Stormwater System Improvements

Roads Needing Improvements

Like many communities in Montana, Thompson Falls has experienced growth and construction of new buildings and asphalt surfaces throughout the City.  The City’s steep topography on the hill has required continual maintenance to repair erosion along the sides of the paved roads.  Drainage elsewhere throughout the community is undersized, no longer useful, or nonexistent.

The City is working on developing a preliminary engineering report (PER) for evaluating how stormwater affects the community and feasible ways that the problems can be addressed.  This document will provide planning framework that the City can use to address stormwater deficiencies in both short term and long term applications.  Additionally, this document is important for applying for grants, loans, or other publicly available funding programs.

  • Project has received City government approval to begin.
  • PER is planned to be completed before spring 2026 to coincide with the next state grant programs application deadlines.
  • Will be made available as needed.
  • $80k budget, issued work order on 10/15/24
  • Completely funded by an ARPA Grant
  • Coming soon!
